The Arboretum on Blue Hill is a a private property of over 330 acres
which resides in the Town of Yorkshire in Cattaraugus County, just
35 miles from Buffalo, New York. Early settlers moving west looked
up to the hills southeast of Springville and saw them surrounded by
blue sky. Reference to Bue Hill can be found on maps around 1840.
The elevation is around 2500 feet.
The Hilliker family has been growing Christmas trees since 1947,
most of which find their way to Garden Centers and tree lots in Western
New York. To learn more about their nursery business please visit
our nursery web site at http://www.treehavennursery.com. The Aboretum's
mission is to preserve tree types, mostly conifers (cone bearing evergreens),
for long term propagation and a source of future plant material.
Many of the trees that we grow are from countries around the world
and are not known in America.
Please take the time to explore our web site, visit us and tag your
Christmas tree this fall, (use Christmas Tree Tagging link). |
